MAPLETON - C. Calvin Pendexter, 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 23, 2016 after a long battle with heart and kidney disease. Calvin was born in Castle Hill on March 22, 1939, the son of Wilson and Ruby (McPherson) Pendexter.
Calvin worked for 30 years at Syndicate Store Fixtures as a Chemical Engineer where he retired in 2002. He was a member of the West Chapman Advent Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce (Chamberlain) Pendexter of Mapleton and daughter, Lezlie Cole and her husband Tim of Presque Isle; 3 grandchildren, Alana, Brent and Cory; two great grandchildren; three siblings, Eula and her husband Carl Calvert, Sheila and her husband John deGaribody and Patricia "Suzy" Smith; three sisters-in-law, Judy, Marie and Paula Chamberlain; and brother-in-law, Gorman and his wife Janet Chamberlain.
In addition to his parents, Calvin was predeceased by his sister, Debra Sue Shirley.
A memorial service for Calvin and his late sister Debra will be held in the spring. Donations may be made in Calvin's memory to the West Chapman Advent Christian Church, 3466 West Chapman Rd, Chapman. Memories and condolences to the family may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
