FORT FAIRFIELD - Beverly E. Kornchuk, 83, wife of Elmer Kornchuk, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday morning, May 1, 2014, at her home in Fort Fairfield. She was born October 1, 1930, in Vallejo, CA, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Roeker) Wignall.
Beverly was a graduate of the St. Vincent's School, Vallejo, CA, and was married to Elmer Kornchuk on September 30, 1960. Mrs. Kornchuk was a member of the Aroostook Amateur Radio Association and possessed a great love for animals, birds, plants, flowers and everything in nature. She also enjoyed and found inspiration in studying the scriptures. Beverly was an outstanding and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook and gardener, who appreciated evenings with her beloved husband watching old movies.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kornchuk was predeceased by her brother Charles Wignall. She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Elmer of Fort Fairfield; two sons, Karl W. Kornchuk and his wife, Sue Bernard, of Caribou, Kurt C. Kornchuk and his wife, Deborah, of Placerville, CA; one daughter, Kristin L. Kornchuk of Lake Mary, FL; three grandchildren, Krista L. Kornchuk, student at UMO, Grant Kornchuk and Kate Kornchuk, both of Placerville, CA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, May 5, 2014, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. In keeping with Beverly's wishes there will be no funeral service.
