Betty's Story

Betty McKinnon, 89, wife of the late Robert McKinnon, passed into the arms of Jesus, July 11, 2016 at a Houlton hospital. She was born Nov 5, 1926, in Houlton, the daughter of Willis and Bertha (Corey) Holmes.

Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She graduated from Ricker High School in Houlton, and also graduated from Zion Bible Institute with her loving cousin, Joyce (Bither) Greener. You could always count on her for prayer.

Special thanks to Pastor Root for visits and prayers with her daily during her hospital stay. Sister Betty would always perk up when he walked into the room.

She is survived by four children, Roberta Lops, John and his wife Misook McKinnon, Loree and her husband Tony Bernardini, and Mark McKinnon; a sister, Jeanette Rush; grandchildren Essie and husband Andy Leach, Louie and wife Kellie Bernardini, Emily McKinnon, Casey Bernardini, and Nic Lops; great grandchildren, Lucca, Max and Claire Bernardini. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Carol, Willis and Russell.

Friends nay call from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. Friday at the Danforth Pentecostal Church where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Robert Root officiating. Interment will be in Brookton. Those who wish may donate in her memory to Danforth Pentecostal Church. Condolences may be expressed at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
