Bertrand A. Morneault, 88, died Monday, September 12, 2016, at his home in Millinocket. He was born November 8, 1927, in St. Jacques, New Brunswick, the son of Joseph and Edmee (Levesque) Morneault.
Bert said that he came to Millinocket in 1960, as a stranger, to work in the paper mill, and was treated like a brother. He worked for the Great Northern Paper Company for 31 years, retiring in 1991. Bert enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, gardening, and photography. He was passionate about his faith, and was a dedicated communicant of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish.
Bert is survived by two children, Gilles Morneault and his wife, Amy of Millinocket, and Diane Pinard and her husband, Tony of Auburn; three grandchildren, Luke and Nalini Pinard, and Marc Morneault; a brother, Jean Morneault and his wife, Marion of Barrie, Ontario; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Therese (Soucy) Morneault; and five siblings, Felix, Jacques, Monique, Louie, and Elizabeth.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 P.M. Friday, September 16 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 A.M. Saturday, September 17 at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby Street, Millinocket, with the Rev. Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery.
