- Bernice (King) Monroe, 81, passed away peacefully July 6, 2017 at Penobscot Valley Hospital, with family and friends by her side. She was born Sept. 11, 1935, in Carroll, the daughter of Clair and Edna (Glidden) King.
She was a waitress, secretary, and homemaker for many years. She enjoyed shopping and talking for hours. She is survived by her son, Malcolm Monroe, daughter Shari and husband Scott Sawyer, all of Lincoln, sister Teresa and husband Reuben King, nieces Darla Hope Osgood and Dale Ann King of Lincoln, niece Brenda and husband Jeff Burgess of Belfast, nephew Stuart King of Lincoln, sister-in-law Helen Monroe and brother-in-law Kenneth Monroe both of Lincoln, special aunt Hannah Glidden of Lincoln, several great nieces and great nephews and a special caregiver Megan Willey of Winn. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Carroll, son Brian, nieces Rhonda and Leona, and nephew Kenny.
Friends may call from 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Full Gospel Tabernacle, Fleming Street, Lincoln, where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.clayfuneralhome.com
