Bernard's Story

NEWPORT - Barney Hall Sr., 82, passed away peacefully July 12th at EMMC. He was born June 21, 1933 in Dixmont, the son of LeRoy and Frances (Read) Hall.

He served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Hall's Service Station in Newport from 1954 to 1973. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards with friends, and putting together puzzles.

He is survived by his wife, Mary (Ward) Hall of 58 years, his son Bernard Jr. and wife Joanie, his 2 daughters Nancy and husband Richard, and Debra and husband Wendell. 6 grandchildren - Emily and husband Steve Gardner, Elizabeth and husband Jordan Toner, Michele and husband Brennen Bonin, Nichole and husband Shawn Danforth, Matthew McLemore and Nathan Howe. 5 great grandchildren - Nikki, Jackson, Alli, Rylie, and Kenzie. He is also survived by a sister Lee Steele, 3 brothers Ralph and wife Imogene, Read and wife Cheryl, Randy and wife Becky, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Ricky. He will be missed by many friends and neighbors.

A celebration of life will be held at the Jubilee Family Worship Center on Elm Street in Newport on July 18 at 1:00PM
