PASSADUMKEAG - Beatrice K. Mottram, formerly of Stratford, Connecticut, but now of Passadumkeag, Maine, wife of the late Charles P. Mottram passed away May 30, 2015 at a Howland healthcare facility. She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut July 29, 1910, daughter of Raymond A. and Anna (Schick) Knapp. She graduated in Class of 1927 from Stratford High School, worked as legal secretary 13 ½ years, and later worked as Medicare Secretary for Stratford Visiting Nurse Association. While in Stratford she was active in the Parent -Teacher Association, was a member of Stratford Congregational Church, and a life member of Evening Star Rebekah Lodge. She and her husband retired to Passadumkeag, Maine in 1974. She was an active member of Passadumkeag Grange #586 and was also life member of North Penobscot Pomona, Maine State Grange, and National Grange. She was a Life Member of Passadumkeag Historical Society.
Survivors are one son, Charles R. Mottram and wife Mary Lee, of Passadumkeag; two grandsons, Charles A. Mottram of Passadumkeag and John Mottram of Alaska; a sister in law Vivienne of North Branford, Connecticut; one sister, Lila Innes and husband Charles of Granby, Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Charles P. Mottram; infant daughter, Beatrice; brother Raymond Knapp and wife Bernice; and brother Lewis Knapp.
Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Gould's Ridge Cemetery, Passadumkeag, with the Rev. Aaron Webb officiating. A gathering will follow at the Passadumkeag Community Building.
