LEVANT - B. Maxine (Robinson) Morse, 86, died May 18, 2016, peacefully at home in the care of the family and Hospice of Eastern Maine due to heart failure. She was born August 18, 1929, in Steuben, the remaining child of four, to the late Russell David and Olga Temple Robinson.
Maxine found the very best in every situation, always saying "the good Lord knows and will get us through." Though she had many difficult life experiences she did live out what she believed. She was always serving others happily and joyfully in many capacities - site coordinator Meals on Wheels in Gray/New Gloucester, knitting hundreds of hats for children and helmet liners for troops and private hire caregiver. Everything she put her hand to, which is too numerous to list, she did it with great determination. From the first paying job at 16 packing sardines to the last elderly person she cared for at age 82. Her greatest joy was being Ma, Mom, Gram, Maxie, Goldfish Gram and Great Great to her family.
She was predeceased by Vanessa Ann Morse, stillborn daughter, in 1957. Surviving her are daughters, Carla M. Severance of Livermore Falls and Dolly Chesley and husband, Andy, of Levant; sons, Timothy A. Morse of Andover, Colin R. Morse of Windham and David F. Morse and wife, Ester, of Westbrook; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and two very dear sisters-in-law, Jeanette Arsenault and Polly Rudge of Bangor.
A memorial gathering wlll be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Advent Christian Church, 2141 Broadway, Bangor. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Eastern Maine, 885 Union St., Bangor, ME 04401.
