Barbara's Story

EAST MILLINOCKET - Barbara Jean Lyons 70, went home to be with her Lord and saviour on December 11, 2014 after a couragous battle with breast and liver cancer. Barbara believed that God would heal her here on earth or when she entered the Glory of heaven. Barbara was born December 20, 1943 the daughter of Donald E Jarvis and Lena P (Barton) Jarvis of East Millinocket, Me.

Barbara will be remembered for all her acts of love and kindness to her family, especially aunt Barbs fudge.

She was a beautiful seamstress and loved to knit and crochet. One thing she would look forward to, would be to see the humming birds return for the summer feeding at her picture window. Barbara was predeceased by her parents and a daughter Lisa Marie and three brothers Buddy, Donald Jr, and Ensley.

Barbara is survived by her husband George P. Lyons of 46 years and two daughters Dawn Marie (Lyons) Leavitt and her husband Kevin of Richmond, Maine and Melissa Jean (Lyons) O'Connell and her husband Robert of Palm Coast FL. She is also survived by four grandchildren Katelyn and her husband Brandan Diaz of Benson, NC, Jonathan O'Connell of Palm Coast, FL., Emily A. and Julien A. Leavitt of Richmond, Me.

Barb also has four sisters Winnie McGreevey, Hazel and Frank Vaznis, Charlotte and Donald Markie, and Betty Austin, also two brothers Butch and wife Alta and Kenneth. She was the Aunt of several nieces and nephews.

She also has two step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren in Mass.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Debbie Kranick and Nancy Nadeau of the Home Health and Hospice Services.

Visitations will be held at The Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church and friends may call from, Monday, December 15, 2014 at 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church. Pastor Reggie Adams will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church. Those who wish may sign an online register and leave written condolences at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
