Barbara's Story

HARDWICK, MA AND CARROLL PLANTATION, ME - Barbara J. Hutchins-Sibley, 84, of Hardwick, MA and Carroll Plantation, ME, passed away at home surrounded by her family on March 8th, after a brief illness. She was born July 15, 1930 in Ware, MA, the daughter of Martin V. Hutchins and Margaret (Roach) Hutchins.

Her life's work and greatest joy was raising her 10 children, 30 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. A devoted Red Sox fan, her kitchen was always open and she will be fondly remembered by the "Pea Soup Gang" at the mill.

She is survived by her beloved dogs Scamp and Lily, as well as her children, Marcia Sibley, Louis Sibley, Susan Lubelczyk, Lynda Sibley, Darlene DeRosier, Peg Flynn, Christina Doane, Robert Sibley, Jennifer Dodge and Randy Sibley. She also leaves her sisters Carol Giza, Gertrude Shrover and brother Kenneth Hutchins. She was predeceased by her husband Louis Sibley Sr., sons-in-law Gary Renaud Sr., and Gregory Jimmo, as well as her sister Diane Swistak.
