B. Hartley's Story
- B. Hartley Shaw, 90, died December 7, 2016, in Houlton. He was born July 29, 1926, in Littleton, the son of Beverly C. and Amber (Stockford) Shaw. He was a Veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII in France, was a member of the Meduxnekeag Ramblers, and the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum. Hartley enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to camp, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joyce (Crawford) Shaw of Littleton , a son, Otis and Linda Shaw of Littleton, 3 daughters: Gloria Fitzpatrick of Littleton, Margaret and Danny Hoyt of Orange Park, FL, Charlene and Philip Chase of Houlton; 10 Grandchildren: Angela, Michele, Marty, Wayne, Richard, Adam, Matthew, Andrew, Tim and Gavin; 18 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; 2 sisters: Shirley Warman and Marie Haggerman both of Houlton as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sons: Preston and Johnny; 6 siblings: Teddy, Milton, Edna, Dorothy, Roland, and Jimmy Totten.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Fri., Dec. 9, 2016, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, with funeral services at 2 p.m., Sat., Dec. 10, 2016, with Rev. Steve Straubel officiating. A time of fellowship will be held at the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum immediately following. Spring interment at Littleton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum or the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Snowsled Club.
