Ava L. (Hall) Bubar

- Ava L. (Hall) Bubar, 70, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on March 11, 2017, after a tough fight with cancer. She was born July 11, 1946, the daughter of Ray and Bessie (Whitmore) Hall.
Ava was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Sidney Bubar Sr.; their children, Sidney Bubar Jr. and his wife, Vickie, of Bradford, Rodney Bubar Sr. and his wife, Amy, of Bradford, Timothy Bubar Sr. and his wife, Lisa, of Bradford and Lois Jones and her life partner, Chris, of Dover; and grandchildren, Ashley and her husband, Doug, Dustin and his husband, Ray, Jessica and her husband, Nick, Alyssa and her partner, Mike, Amanda, Chelsey and her partner, Kaleb, Rodney and his fiancee, Ashley, Wesley and his fiancee, Rachel, Jennaka and her partner, Troy, Brady and his partner, Jackie, TJ, Zane and Jonathon. She is also survived by her brothers, Dale, Hubert, Robert and Warren Hall; and 7 great-grandchildren. She loved family time, especially Thanksgiving and Fourth of July, when everyone would gather for the holiday.
Ava was Town Manager for Bradford, Administrative Assistant and temporary town manager three times for the town of Levant, and ended her career as town manager for the town of Bradford again. She enjoyed the mental stimulation and challenges of town government. Sid and Ava enjoyed traveling, in the U.S. as well as overseas. They went to Greece, Paris, London, Scotland and Italy. They also spent time touring the midwest United States. Ava loved the warm weather of Florida and they spent many winters in the sunshine and warmth. She had many friends and neighbors in Florida with whom she loved to spend time. They loved taking the grandchildren to Florida and showing them the sights. In Ava's spare time, she had many hobbies that she enjoyed: scrapbooking, reading, puzzles and quilting. A special thanks to Eska Richards for spending time with Ava and helping her complete some scrapbooking genealogy projects and making quilts for the grandchildren. She and Ava shared a special lifelong friendship.
A special thanks to Melissa from VNA for caring for Ava and the family in her final days. She is a special lady with a huge heart and her kindness is incomparable. Also, a special thanks to her doctors, Dr. Sheila Pascual and the oncology staff at Lafayette Family Cancer Center in Brewer, and her urologist, Dr. Jonathan Telsey.
There will be a celebration of Ava's life on April 29, 2017, at the Bradford Community Center from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Lincoln Animal Shelter, 1 Park Ave., Lincoln, ME 04457, in Ava's name; she loved her cats and wished to find the best homes and care for the ones she couldn't keep.
