- Arthur D. Gove, 80, passed away February 24, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 10, 1936 in Linneus, the son of Ralph and Donna (Folsom) Gove.
He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Korea. He drove truck for Potato Service and HE Sargent, Gerry Miller and lastly, Nickerson Construction. Arthur ran the Island Falls Exxon and Service station with Bob Margison for 14 years. He enjoyed riding his tractor, cleaning his pickup, hunting, camping, puttering and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Genie (Sharp) Gove of New Limerick; his children Randy and Diane Gove, Shelly and Vaughn Farrar, all of Hodgdon; step-children, James R. Marges of New Limerick and Donald J. Marges of Presque Isle; 3 grandchildren, Wendy and Josh Craig, Lacy and Drew Farrar; 2 granddaughters, Alexandria and JunMarie; a brother-in-law, Bill Thompson of FL. He was predeceased by his parents; a grandson, Little Arthur; 2 sisters, Rowena Gove and Bonnie Thompson.
Friends may call 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4th at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Robertson.
