EAGLE LAKE AND FORT KENT - Arlene Kidney, 75, died on September 12, 2015 at a Fort Kent nursing facility after a long battle with deteriorating health. Arlene was born April 18, 1940 in Eagle Lake, Me, the daughter of Leonard and Cora (Gagnon) Sirois.
Arlene had a great sense of humor and sharp wit. At an early age, Arlene learned to swim and would go to the Eagle Lake beach whenever possible with her many brothers, sisters and friends. Arlene loved to host family gatherings and spent as much time as possible with her family and friends. Arlene enjoyed using her computer to keep in contact with friends and family and to play solitaire.
In 1955, Arlene married Lucien Tardiff; they moved into a small home in Caribou, Maine where Lucien worked as an automotive mechanic. Arlene later married Llewelyn Kidney; a farmer, arborist and trucking business owner. They resided in Washburn, Me. for a while before moving to Bloomfield, Conn. and later moved to Eagle Lake, ME.
Arlene was predeceased by two sisters, Diane Sirois and Patsy Beaudry; six brothers, Gilman, Fernand, Normand, Richard, Armand and Gerald Sirois; her daughter, Lynn Levasseur; and her son, Lucien Tardiff Jr. Arlene is survived by two children, Michael Tardiff and Julian Kidney and his wife, Karen; six sisters, Joan Thibodeau, Ester Goulet, Betty Cole, Margaret Claffy, Nancy Pelletier, Rose Cyr; and three brothers Lionel, Gary and Jimmy Sirois. Arlene had five stepchildren, fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arlene loved animals, especially her dog, Simba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Arlene's memory to PAWS Animal Welfare Society Inc. PO Box 94 Fort Kent Mills, ME 04744.
Funeral Services will be held 3 :00pm Friday Sept. 18, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eagle Lake. Committal services will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are a service of Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
