Antoinette's Story

MILLINOCKET - Antoinette "Diddie" DiFrederico, 85, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Katahdin Nursing Home on Wednesday, March, 9, 2016. She was born on January 20, 1931, in Millinocket, ME, the daughter of Louis and Anita (Buccioni) DiFrederico.

She was a graduate of Stearns High School, class of 1949. Diddie resided in Millinocket her whole life, caring for her aging parents and working for various retail stores, including W.T. Grant's, Woolworth, Woolco and Ames. She was an amazing cook and was responsible for preparing many wonderful Italian meals for all her family's holidays. Although she never had children of her own, she was always very interested and involved in the lives of her many nieces and nephews, as well as their children.

In addition to her parents, Diddie was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony DiFrederico of Waterbury, Connecticut, Augustino "Gus" DiFrederico and James DiFrederico, both of Millinocket, Maine and Mario "Lefty" DiFrederico of Kennebunk, Maine. She was also predeceased by her wonderful nephew, Carl DiFrederico of Millinocket, Maine.

Diddie is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A memorial service will take place in the Spring.
