Anthony's Story

Text size

Steuben - Anthony J. Lubrano passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2017. "Duke" as he was known by family and friends was born in Manhatten, NY on March 31, 1952, the son of the late Evelyn Duscio Lubrano and Salvatore Lubrano of City Island, NY. He moved to Maine in the 1980's in search of a quieter and simple way of life, where he met and married his wife.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda Leighton Lubrano of Steuben, two step daughters whom he loved like his own, Melissa Merritt of Brewer, Michelle Wright and husband Jon of Machiasport.
Three grandchildren, Alexa Pelkey of Lincolnville, Hunter Pelkey of Brewer, Brenna Moholland of Hampden, one step grandson, Josh Wright of Addison, one great granddaughter, Clover of Lincolnville, one brother, Stephen Lubrano and wife Lauran of CT, two sisters, Lisa Boria of PA and Evelyn Albano of CT, three nieces and three nephews.
Duke loved the outdoors, golfing, hunting, camping but most of all fishing, on a lake or the ocean. When he had a fishing pole in his hand he was content.
He also loved his Sat. night card game with the "boys" at his good friend Charlie Peterson and his wife Huddy's house.
Duke had many good friends and co-workers at Viking Lumber where he worked for many years and would like to thank them all for their support. Most of all would like to thank CHCS for their help and support over the last few weeks of his life. They are the most caring people I have met. Could not have gotten through without them. Thank-You.
Services will be held May 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Unionville Church of God in Steuben with Charles Kelley officiating. Refreshments will be served in the Vestry downstairs in the church immediately following the services. Arrangements entrusted to Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge, Maine.
