BANGOR AND MOODY - Ann E. (Perry) Brusgulis died Friday, June 10, 2016 in Kittery, ME after a lengthy illness. Ann was born June 7, 1931 in Bangor, ME, the daughter of J. Francis and Bernice (MacDonald) Perry.
She attended St. Mary's School in Bangor and graduated from John Bapst High School, Class of 1949. Ann attended Sisters of Charity Nursing School in Waterville, ME graduating in 1952.
She moved to Boston and began her nursing career at Beth Israel Hospital and retired from that career at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in 1993. She met her future husband while working in Boston. She and Simon "Sam" Jack Brusgulis married on April 7, 1956. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage, until he died on October 15, 2009. Ann loved to read and enjoyed card games, especially cribbage.
Ann was predeceased by her husband, Sam; her parents; and her brother, Alexander MacDonald Perry. Her survivors include her brother John F. Perry, Jr. and Carolyn of Hampden, ME; her nieces Robin, Kathy, Regina, Joanne and Bonnie; her sisters Margaret Foster and Tom of Dallas, TX, Nancy Hall and Bill of Cataula, GA and Sally Wander of Roseville, CA; and other nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her best friend of 80 years, Margo (Callinan) Marden.
Ann's family would like to thank everyone for the care received at York Hospital, Durgin Pines, and Hospice of Southern Maine. Her family appreciates friend and neighbor, Bridget who spent many hours with Ann in her final days. Services will be private for the family.
