MILLINOCKET - Anita L. McQuade, 74, wife of Richard McQuade, passed away Feb. 8, 2016, at a Millinocket hospital. She was born Dec. 13, 1941, in Milo, the daughter of Milton William Smith and Helen Juanita (Peters) Smith of Brownville.
In 1960 she graduated from Brownville Jct. High School, got married and moved to Millinocket. Anita and Dick were married for 55 years. She was a stay-at-home Mom, a member of the Millinocket Baptist Church and the Bible Study Group. She enjoyed the coffee group at McDonald's.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Lorie and Steve Peabody, Robin and William Blake, and Lynn and Charles Brown; a son, Rick McQuade; a brother, Milton Smith; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Millinocket Cemetery. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the Millinocket Baptist Church or the Katahdin Area Support Group. Condolences may be expressed at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
