Amélie's Story

MASARDIS - Amélie E. Calabrese, 11, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at her home. She was born December 8, 2003 in Waterville, a daughter of Charles Calabrese Jr. and Carrie Cummins.

Amélie was a fifth grader within Ashland schools. She loved to express herself creatively though her art. Whether drawing, sculpture or painting, she loved to share her views and expressions of the wonderful world around her. With her mother, Amélie sang for a brief time with Aroostook River Voices and also enjoyed playing Minecraft video games with her father.

She leaves behind her loving and supportive family: her parents of Masardis; her loving siblings Noelle, Ezekiel, and twins Anakin & Angelique Calabrese; maternal grandmother Caron Foren and her husband Ben of Litchfield; paternal grandmother Sandra Ivins of Augusta; step-grandmother, Lana Dickinson; aunts & uncles, Ryan Rairdon, Heather McQueen, Jammie Dickinson and Dana Dickinson; many cousins; and many dear friends and classmates.

Amélie is predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Alison Dickinson, and her paternal grandfather, Charles Calabrese Sr.

A Remembrance of Life will be held at 3 PM on Monday, February 2, 2015, at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, where memories of Amélie may be shared. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday from 2 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Amélie's name may be offered to the family to assist in offsetting expenses during such a difficult time. To share condolences online, please visit
