WARNER ROBINS, GA. - WARNER ROBINS, GA. - Alton Robert Chesley, 83, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 5, 1930, in Fort Fairfield, to Alton Stevens Chesley and Beatrice Whitney Chesley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Margaret Hafey Chesley; sister and brother-in-law, Anne Chesley Wiggin (Floyd); sister, Winona Chesley Ugone; sisters-in-law, Carolyn "Jeannie" Higgins Chesley, Mildred Tate Balthis and Sandra Tate Blackwell.
Alton's memory will forever be treasured by his devoted wife of sixty years, Hildred Tate Chesley of Warner Robins, Ga.; daughters, Bonnie Franklin and friend, Ed Stolzenbach of Easley, S.C. and Trina Collins (Tom) of Perry, Ga.; brother, Roger Chesley of Corinth and Sebec Lake; grandchildren, Jennifer Collins Spivey of Perry, Ga., Tony Collins (Julie-Ann) of Cumming, Ga., Melissa Collins Riley (Brad) of Reynolds, Ga., Michael Collins and friend, Amanda Graham of Kathleen, Fla. and Megan Franklin of Davie, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Maggie, Jacob and Katie Spivey, all of Perry, Ga. and Maddie Collins of Cumming, Ga.; brother-in-law, Kenneth Tate (Beverly) of Corinth; sisters-in-law, Lois Tate Crane (Neil) of Dexter and Pearl Tate Campbell of Bangor; brother-in-law, Earl Blackwell of Levant; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins, Ga. The Reverend Richard Asbell and Reverend Glynn D. Grantham will officiate. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the service.
