Almida's Story

LINCOLN - Almida "Babe" Mary Deschene Daigle, 91, wife of the late Alberie "Pit" Daigle, passed away March 25, 2015, at her home. She was born May 25, 1923, in Eagle Lake, the daughter of William and Esther (Sirois) Deschene.

Babe had worked at Osgood's and Wilson's in Lincoln. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping and playing cards and loved being with children.

She is survived by three children, Ralph and wife Mary Daigle, Gene and wife Nancy Daigle, and Marscella and husband Mike Ireland; grandchildren, Johnathan Ireland, Wayne and Angel Ireland, Tracy and Larry Anderson, Matthew Daigle and Nastassja, Shandi Daigle, and Brandon and Laci Daigle; great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Christopher Anderson, Mikala, Blake and Jarek Ireland, Nevaeh, Chloe and Jacoby Daigle.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Adolpha Esther Gagner and Mary Guyuella Parent and two brothers, Joseph G. Deschene and Valerie J. Deschene.

Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will be later at Lincoln Cemetery.
