Alice's Story

Hartland - Alice M. Malone, 71, died unexpectedly Monday, October 3, 2016, at her home in Hartland.
Alice was born on November 14, 1944, the daughter of Aubrey and Gladys (Dunton) Brooks. Alice was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was known for her cooking and baking. She worked at area restaurants for 30 years. She especially loved cooking for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Richard Malone of Hartland; four sons, Kenneth Rines and wife, Kristi, of Virginia Beach, VA, David Rines and wife, Wendy, of Palmyra, Thomas Richardson and fiancée, Neaka Hamilton, of Hartland and Dwight Richardson and wife, Laurel, of India; two stepdaughters, Ann Malone of Boston, MA and Trisha Bessey and husband, John of Newport; fourteen grandchildren, Jessica Robichaud and husband, Mike of MD, Lauren Rines of WA, Kaitlyn Rines of VA, Jared Snowman and wife, Melissa of Plymouth, Thad Rines and wife, Bobbie Sue of Hartland, Abraham Richardson and wife, Christina of IN, Luke Richardson and wife, Marian of South Korea, Seth Richardson and wife, Becky of PA, Gail Hart of Dexter, Eric Richardson of Hartland, Athena Hamilton of Burnham, Dylan Riggs of Hartland, Conor Bessey and Erin Bessey, both of Newport; thirteen great grandchildren, Cole, Peyton, Parker, Marcus, Faith, Kentin, Jake, Tristen, Aubrie, Adrianne, Sammantha, Leigha and Zander.
She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Mahlon Brooks and Louis Brooks; sister, Barbara Nichols; and grandson, Devan Rines.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 13, at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home, 191 Hartland Avenue, Pittsfield.
