Ellsworth - Alice M. Kinne, of 89 Bucksport Rd., died peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Hillhouse Assisted Living in Bath.
She was born in Waterville on June 1, 1928, the daughter of Elden and Ruth (Follansbee) Kinne. Alice grew up in Fairfield and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1945. After graduating from Fisher College in Boston, she worked at Thayer Hospital from 1950 to 1956.
In 1956, she moved to Ellsworth and worked at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital retiring in 1993 as their chief records librarian. After retirement, she returned to the hospital to work part-time in the xray department.
Alice was a member of the United Baptist Church of Ellsworth where she sang in the choir and played the piano for Sunday services. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Society as well as the church librarian.
In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, painting and cross-stitch. She love the beach and the ocean, spending many summers in Ocean Park. She also made the best blueberry pies.
She is survived by a brother, Robert and his wife, Marilyn Kinne of Rockwood; a nephew, Scott Kinne of West Bath; two nieces, Bethany Kinne of Durham, NC and Stephanie and her husband, Brian Wagg of Topsham; two great-nieces and a great-nephew. She is also survived by her longtime friend, Corinne Gifford of Ellsworth.
There will be a graveside service at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield in the spring. Arrangements are by Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High Street, Bath. Condolences may be made online at www.DaigleFuneralHome.com.
