BRADFORD - Alice May (Callahan) Hurd, 68, wife of Richard E. Hurd, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Saturday, November 22, 2014, at a Bangor hospital. She was born on August 13, 1946 in Methuen Massachusetts, the daughter of Thomas and Ruth (Magoon) Callahan Sr.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and nana. Alice worked in the textile mills, in the southern part of the country, before moving to Maine, where she worked for Labree's Bakery for several years. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening and tending to her flowers.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are four children, Charla Burnett and her husband, Chris of Winterport, Frederick Day of Bangor, Robert Day of Old Town and Lorna Parker and her husband, Donald of North Carolina; three stepchildren, Richard Hurd Jr. of Portland, Sheila Wickett of Lakland, FL., and Hope Smith and her partner, David Wiles Jr. of Milford; seven grandchildren, Dakota, Mercede, Trevor, Christopher, Shelby, Kathryn and Josie; one brother, Thomas Callahan Jr. Alice was predeceased by her sisters, Colleen and Patricia. She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.
