LAMBERT LAKE - Alice A Grass, 96, died August 17, 2015, at home, surrounded by her loving family, whom she loved very much and they loved her. She was born September 15, 1918, in Lambert Lake, the daughter of George W. and Hazel (Gallison) Grass.
Alice cooked and cared for her family for many years, until each one left the nest. Her greatest pleasure was riding the back roads with her husband and hunting and fishing with him. After he passed, she went camping and fishing with her sister, Cynthia and brother-in-law, Del, or her daughter, Leola. She just loved the great outdoors.
She was predeceased by her husband, Verdie L. Grass; daughter, Sheila M. Cogswell; brothers, Elmont Grass, Horace Grass and Earl Grass; sisters, Muriel Phillips, Margaret Sawyer and Marie Garrish; her beloved grandmother, Mary Wright; son-in-law, Carlton Monk; and great-grandson, Royce Ripley.
She is survived by five children, Lenwood Grass and his wife, Norma, Gilbert Grass and his wife, Barbara, William Grass and his wife, Judith, Leola Beach and her husband, David, all of Lambert Lake, and Grace Monk, of Codyville; four granddaughters, Lori Gallison, Melanie Ripley, Miranda Cookson and Tammi Lane; ten grandsons, Troy Monk, Todd Monk, Corey Beach, Shawn Beach, Dwayne Grass, Kevin Grass, Jeff Grass, Greg Grass, Timothy Grass and Jimmy Grass; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at Vanceboro Cemetery. Condolences may be left at .
