Alice's Story

MELBOURNE, FL AND FRANKFORT, ME - MELBOURNE, FL AND FRANKFORT, ME - Alice Mae Bodkin died on May 9, 2016, at the age of 93. She was born in Prospect, Maine on May 29, 1922.

At the age of 19 she traveled to Washington, D.C. to work for the government, where she met and married her husband of 64 years, Earl Bodkin, who passed away in 2006.

Alice is survived by her children: Earla Marcum of Apopka, FL; N. Van Raymond of Glenburn, ME; Kathy Bodkin-Rubino of Brewer, ME; and Judy Waldvogel of Longwood, FL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Until her move to Florida in 1968, she was an active member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Winterport and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. After moving to Florida, she stayed busy as a volunteer with several organizations including the area hospital. Alice was known for her great sense of humor and is sadly missed by her family and friends.

Entombment is at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL.
