Albin's Story

BANGOR - Albin Joseph Gerick, 87, passed away peacefully October 24, 2015, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 31, 1928 in Cameron, TX, the son of Joe and Frances (Kubish) Gerick.

Albin graduated from Cameron High School. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force for 22 ½ years and served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Albin was a member of the Brewer Eagles Club for more than 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #84 of Orono, and also the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Judy Parady of Hampden; grandsons, Gerald Parady Jr. of Hampden, Lawrence Parady of Mifflinburg, PA; granddaughters, Lisa Ouellette and husband Gerry of Hampden, Jennifer Bedard of Kansas City, MO; great grandchildren, Adam and Katrina Ouellette, Dylan, Ryan and Jordan Bedard; and many nieces and nephews, and will be missed by good friends Buddy and Arlene Greenough of Canada. Albin was predeceased by his loving wife Julia; brothers, Louis, Joe, Herman, Otto, Alfred and Albert, sisters; Albene Scheller, Mary Koranek, Frances William, and Tillie Zarosky.

A Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass will be held 11 AM, Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Interment will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor.
