Til Memory Fades & Life Departs, You Will Live Forever In Our Hearts
- Albert S. Lockwood, Sr. of Abbot, died on February 10, 2017, at the age of 91. He was born on December 12, 1925, to Peter and Florence Lockwood in North Stonington, Connecticut. Al was a WWII veteran, where he seen action in the Battle of the Bulge. He married the love of his life, Lucy Wallingford, who predeceased him in 1989. They raised 9 children together, those who survive him are, Patricia Rivard, Sally Lockwood, and Linda Izzarelli all of Connecticut, James Lockwood and Lucy McKenzie of Maine. As well as, those children who predeceased him, Edelbert Brackett Sr, Winifred Williams, Albert Lockwood and Gary Peter Lockwood. He is survived by sisters, Petra Whipple and Betty White, of Florida. He was predeceased by his siblings, George Lockwood, Peter Lockwood, Tom Lockwood, June Hitchcock, Marjorie Paquin, Adele Laflash, Mae Hitchcock, and Grace Avery. He also had 29 Grandchildren, 60 Great Grandchildren and 27 Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral services were held on February 14, 2017 with full military honors at the Packaug Cemetery in Voluntown CT.
