Adrian L. LaPointe

- Adrian L. LaPointe, 86, of Saco, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, February 10, 2017, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
He was born in Caswell on February 8, 1931, a son of Walter and Agnes (King) LaPointe.
Adrian was employed by the Bangor & Aroostook Railroad for forty-three years, retiring in 1991. During retirement, he spent fourteen years in Boynton Beach, Florida, with his wife MaryLou. They returned to Maine to live with his daughter Lori and her family in 2005.
Adrian's favorite pastime was to tell stories of his days on the railroad and growing up on a farm in Caswell during the great depression.
Mr. LaPointe was a parishioner of St. Margaret Church in Old Orchard Beach.
He was predeceased by 4 sisters and 8 brothers, Irene, Sadie, Annie, Evelyn, Leo, Lawrence, Phil, Johnny, George, Roger, Renis, and Guilford and by three sons Tom, Gary, and Jim.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, MaryLou (Ardine) LaPointe.
His son Dave and wife Kristie of Charlestown, RI, grandson Scott and wife Samantha.
His son Danny and wife Margaret of Masardis, ME, grandson Travis Chapman and wife Kellie, great-grandchildren Kacie and Evan. Granddaughter Jolie Chapman and great-grandchildren Matthew, Abby, Madison, and Isiah.
His son Jeff of Charlotte, NC.
His daughter Lori and husband Jon Bryant of Saco, and grandsons Zach and Spencer.
His daughter-in-law Sheril of Caribou, grandson Traves, great-grandchildren Libby, Sadie, and Wesley. Granddaughter Lyndsay and husband Cole Theriault of Connor, ME. Great-grandchildren Abbi, Lexi and Coleson.
His daughter-in-law Kim and husband Rod Wardwell of Woodland, ME. Grandson Jimmy and wife Whitney, granddaughter Jessie and great-grandson Devin.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at St. Margaret Church in Old Orchard Beach. Burial will be in the spring at New Holy Rosary Cemetery in Caribou. To view Adrian's memorial page or leave an online condolence, please visit
