GREENVILLE JCT - Adrian J. Breton, 88, died January 18, 2016, at the V.A. Medical Center at Togus. He was born August 15, 1927, the son of Frederick and Lillian (Albert) Breton.
He graduated from Greenville High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII. Following the service he attended the Boston Conservatory and had his own band for many years. He worked as a barber in Greenville for many years and also worked for the maintenance department at Greenville High School. Many would remember him as he helped you onto the T-Bar at Squaw Mountain. He was a communicant of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. Adrian was very active in the community and was involved in helping to start the Greenville Historical Society, was an active member of the Kiwanis, and a member of the American Legion Post in Greenville.
For many years Adrian helped at the Greenville funeral home through several different owners. In later years he helped to establish the Greenville Chapel of Crosby & Neal at the Masonic Building in Greenville.
He was predeceased by his wife, Olive (McEachern) Breton.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Cindy Ranta and her husband, William of Monson, and Jody Breton of Greenville; 4 grandchildren, Bryce, Billy, Stacey, and Kim; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Clint Breton of Ojai, CA; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Greenville Chapel Monday, January 25, 2016, from 9 to 11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Greenville with the Rev. Fr. Aaron Damboise and Rev. Fr. Richard Malo officiating. Spring burial will be in the Greenville Cemetery.
