CORINTH - Ada P. Rockwell, 103, died peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2014, in Dover-Foxcroft. Ada was born on March 6, 1911, in Chapman, Maine, the daughter of the late Ira Charles and Addie Flayvilla (Cox) Robbins.
She attended schools in Aroostook county and married Otis Rockwell. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed helping her husband on the family farm while raising their children. She was also employed for a time by the local shoe shops. She was a faithful member of the Charleston Pentecostal Church for many years.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy Rockwell Smith, Norman Rockwell and wife, Glenda, Helen Rockwell Kneeland, Robert Rockwell and wife, Carolyn, Lois Rockwell Kneeland and husband, Philip, Elaine Rockwell O'Bar and husband, Carlson, Floyd Rockwell and his companion, Vicky Rockwell; daughter-in-law, Colleen Rockwell; her sister, Bertha Ulrich; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Otis Rockwell; 3 sons, Kenneth, Lawrence and Walter; and sons-in-law, Edwin Smith and Willis Kneeland.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-noon, with a funeral service immediately following at noon Wednesday, October 15, at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, 185 Main Road, Charleston, with the Rev. Matt Ward officiating. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. A committal service will be held at the Corinthian Cemetery in Corinth following the gathering.
