A.'s Story

PRESQUE ISLE - A. Gertrude Patton Lovley, 88, went to be with her Lord on March 3, 2016. She was born September 21, 1927, the daughter of the Rev. Bernard and Esther (Lane) Patton.

She graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1945 and worked for Zayre Corp. for 24 years. She was active in church musical ministry from 1939 to 1995, serving as pianist, organist and also enjoyed singing as a soloist and in group singing. She thought it a pleasure to be a part of "The King's Daughters Quartet."

Gertrude is survived by two daughters, Sonya Gardiner and her husband, William, of Chapman and Donna Shaw and her husband, Willard, of Fort Fairfield; one son, Roy Lovley and his wife, Rosanne, of Presque Isle, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by several special friends. She was predeceased by sisters, Geraldine Blalack and Ruth Holmes; and a brother, Bernard Patton Jr.

Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, where services will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bud Fancy officiating.
