ISLAND FALLS - Zachary "Zach" N. Bearor, 13, was called home to his heavenly Father's house on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Bangor after a short but brave battle against brain cancer.
It was only five short weeks ago that we found out about this terrible disease. During this time Zach never lost his zest for life or his faith in his Lord. Although he has only lived in Island Falls for a year, he touched almost everyone's life. If he was not home playing and making things with Legos he could be found either walking or riding all over town. He befriended everyone he met and he never disliked anyone. He also liked to walk to the store and try to sneak up on the cashiers and scare them. Zach only went to S.A.C.H.S. for a year but made friends with almost the whole student body. He loved to play trumpet in the band and helped out around the school wherever he could. He also loved to help out at the fire station after calls, cleaning the roll hose and tools that were used. Zach wanted to be just like his Dad. He talked about joining the Air Force so he could fix planes and planned on being fire fighter, just like his Dad is.
Zach is survived by his father and step-mother Kevin and Bunny Bearor of Island Falls; mother and step-father Buffy and Keith Johnson of Mechanic Falls; his brothers Brandon and David Bearor of Mechanic Falls; step brothers Chris Nason and his wife, Debbie of Lavant, Wade Nason and his wife, Dena of Yukon, OK and his very special step brother Bud Nason of Island Falls; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call 12-2 p.m. on Monday, June 13 at the Bethel Pentecostal Church, Oakfield where a celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Sterling Lawrence officiating. Interment will be in the Island Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital with checks made payable to Maine Medical Center, Development Office, 22 Bramhall Street, Portland, Maine 04102. Please include Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in the memo. For an online memory book and to leave condolences, please visit www.bowersfuneral.com
