EDDINGTON AND BANGOR - William Thomas Rabbitt, 83, passed away peacefully, November 27, 2015, into the arms of his Lord. He was born and raised in Saugus, MA, November 26, 1932, the son of John Joseph and Lydia Sarah (White) Rabbitt.
Thomas, as he was known to his friends, proudly served in the US Navy. After his discharge, he drove for Greyhound Bus, where he met his wife, Louise. They were married 27 years ago, a ceremony that was lovingly officiated by Louise's daughter, Judy and nephew, Winfred. Thomas was a loving man, who was deeply loved by his family. In his retirement, Thomas and Louise enjoyed motorcycle trips to Canada and Thomas took up the art of needlepoint, which he became very talented at.
In addition to his wife, Louise, Thomas is survived by his children, Debbie Sheldon, Cathy Carboneau, Danny Rabbit, Larry Rabbitt, Tom Rabbitt; grandchildren, great grandchildren and many other extended family. He was predeceased by his son, John Rabbitt.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of Maine Veteran's Home for the loving care they gave Thomas during his five years there.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, with Rev. David Henry of First Baptist Church officiating.
