William J. Shellhamer and Alice M. (Cameron)'s Story
- William J. Shellhamer and Alice M. (Cameron) Shellhamer of Holden were interred at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota, on 8 September, 2017. Military honors were provided by the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard and the Sturgis Honor Guard. They were escorted by the Patriot Guard Riders from their daughter Beth's home in Deadwood to the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis.
Mr. Shellhamer served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Korea during the Korean conflict.
Mr. Shellhamer was born on 8 September, 1932, in Binghamton, New York, and passed away on 20 January, 1990, in Bangor. Mrs. Shellhamer was born on 7 January, 1938, in Brewer, and passed away on 29 April, 2015, in Bangor.
They are survived by three daughters, Helen Edwards (Holden), Beth Bailey (Deadwood, South Dakota), Marie Watson (Brewer), and one son, Kurt. Shellhamer (Bucksport). They are also survived by ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, as well as two special nieces, Becky and Donna, who love and remember them fondly. Their son, William, Jr., passed away in 2011 and their grandson, Glenn, passed away in 2014.
