William 'Bill''s Story
- William 'Bill' St. John, 49, of Orono, passed away on Tuesday August 7, 2017 following a long battle with heart disease.
He was born July 14, 1968 in Bangor and was the son of Betty St. John and the late William Maynard St. John. Bill grew up in Orono and went to Orono High School. Immediately following his graduation from high school he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served proudly from 1986 to 1989 until he was medically discharged due to a service related injury.
His passion in life, besides being a Marine, was spending time in the outdoors. He became a Master Maine Guide and loved hunting, fishing and sharing his knowledge of the outdoors with others.
Bill was predeceased by his father William Maynard St. John and is survived by his mother Betty St. John of Orono; his sister Tracee Reynolds and her husband Scott of Pittston and his son Zack along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the amazing nurses and doctors at the Eastern Maine Medical Center Cardiac Surgery Unit.
A private service with military honors will be held for family members only at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd. in Augusta, Thursday August 17, 2017 at noon.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you hug a loved on and take the time to make sure they know how much you love them.
