Warren P. and Lenora M.'s Story
- Warren "Bub" and Lenora "Lenni" will be interred at Palmyra Village Cemetery on August 4 at 1:00 pm. All are welcome to attend. Reception after at the old Palmyra Town Hall just down the street immediately after.
Lenora M. (Bragdon) Blake was born Sept. 24, 1932, to Reginald Glenwood and Arlene Randall (Ellis) Bragdon in Ashland, Maine.
Lenni was raised in Ashland with 4 other siblings: Burnett, Leah, Paula, and Jerome. Lenni graduated from Ashland High School in 1949, and enjoyed attending the class reunions.
Warren P. Blake was born May 10, 1929, to Aili (Pentilla) and Warren H. Blake in Peabody, MA. Bub was raised in Peabody with 3 other siblings: Marion, Richard, and Arthur.
Bub served his country from 1946 to 1968 as an administrative supervisor in the USAF. Bub retired as a Master Sergeant and was honorably discharged. Bub then went to work for Beranger VW in Rochester, NH in 1968, and continued working there until retiring for good in 1988.
Lenni and Bub met and married in Ashland, Maine on August 4th, 1951, after a whirlwind courtship. Lenni worked as a telephone operator and Bub was an Airman in the USAF at Loring AFB. They raised 3 children: Edward, Donna, and Tammy, while moving around the country and the world while Bub was in the USAF.
Bub and Lenni finally settled down in Palmyra, Maine where they enjoyed visiting friends and family. Lenni enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crafts while Bub enjoyed woodworking, golf, and morning visits to Palmyra Variety store to catch up on the latest gossip.
Bub and Lenni loved their family very much. Their children, Edward Blake, Donna and husband, John Benson, and Tammy and husband, Brian McDonnell; their grandchildren, Bonnie Benson Gorrasi and husband, Michael, Peter Benson and wife, Jennifer, William Benson, Kayla Miller and husband, Evan; their great-grandchildren, Mia and Ashlyn Gorrasi, Cole, Quinn, and Mara Benson, and Luke and Lydia Miller.
Lenni passed away January 17, 2016, and Bub passed away September 14, 2016. Bub and Lenni were with their family at the time of their passing. They felt very blessed for all the friends and family who came to visit them.
