Presque Isle and Westfield
- Virginia M. Brown, 92, passed away Nov. 3, 2017, at the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Westfield on January 8, 1925, the daughter of Guy and Elizabeth (Burtchell) Winship.
She retired from Brown's Jewelry Store after working for over 30 years, and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She will be missed and celebrated by family and friends who remember her love of music, dancing, camping, spending time with her family, and sharing a piping hot cup of coffee.
She is survived by her two children, Linda Cassidy and her husband, Eugene of Sinclair, and Wayne Brown and his wife, Delores of Beverly Hills, FL; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Brown of Beverly Hills, FL, Tammy Brown and Vicki Chartier of White River Junction, VT, Chandra Barnes of Hermon, Heather Cassidy of Old Orchard Beach, and Kimberly Cassidy of Rye, NH; and several great-grandchildren. Virginia was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Scott J. Brown, and five siblings, Dorothy Patterson, Geraldine Laing, Pearl Peluso, Emerson Winship, and Pauline Davenport.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, at Marshall Cemetery, Westfield, with Rev. Mark Carter officiating. Online condolences may be shared at www.duncan-graves.com
