Dover-Foxcroft - Violet S. Peters, 85, wife of the late Frederick V. Peters, Jr., passed away peacefully November 8, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital, Bangor. She was born February 7, 1932, in Jamestown, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland, the daughter of Cecil and Arrianna (Skiffington) Ricketts. Violet was very proud that in May of 1967, she was naturalized as a United States Citizen. Even though she hadn't been back to Newfoundland for many years Violet had kept in very close touch with her siblings. She worked for many years alongside her husband, Fred, owning and operating Peters Pharmacy in Dover-Foxcroft. Violet enjoyed working on her many flower gardens.
In addition to Violet's loving husband, Fred, she was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Peters and her sister, Shirley Templeman. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Miller and her husband, Fred, Suzanne Peters and her companion, Bob Lundgren, and Diane Johnson and her husband, Daniel; five grandchildren, Jacob Brooks, Zachary Brooks and his wife, Erin, Jarod Johnson and his wife, Caitlin, Danielle Sharpley and her husband, Wade, and Gabrielle Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Arabella Brooks, and Avery, Brooke, and Cameron Johnson; two brothers, Walter and Robert Ricketts; three sisters, Doris King, Monica Loder, and Jessie LeBlanc; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial Mass will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Father Emile Dube officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Dover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Children's Cancer Treatment Center, care of EMHS Foundation, P.O.
