LINCOLN - Thomas Brent Heal, 60, died July 24, 2014, at Togus Veterans Hospital in Augusta. He was born June 9, 1954 in Waterville, the son of Dr. Thomas S. and Evelyn (Morrison) Heal.
Tom attended Lincoln schools and graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield. Tom worked in the pulp and paper industries in the greater Lincoln area. He was honorably discharged as a private from the United States Army. Tom was active in a number of Maine Veteran organizations and volunteered his time in support of various veterans' causes. Tom loved the woods and being out of doors. His idea of a perfect day was spending time on the Golden Road and taking pictures of wildlife.
Tom is survived by his fiancée, Brenda Worcester of Bangor; his daughter and son-in-law, Karin and Anthony Goslin of Smithfield, VA; his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Melissa Smart of Bangor; his sister and husband, Mary M. Heal and Keith E. Kolodgie of Yarmouth; granddaughters, Avori, Kera, and Alexandra, of Smithfield, VA; grandson, Dominic Smart, of Bangor; and nephew, Andrew Kolodgie, of Yarmouth. Tom had a special affection for Tawnya Worcester and Theron Ham and children, Tyler, Mariah, Jordan; Mandee and Jamie LaBelle and children, Makayla and Michael of Corinth.
Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Saturday, July 26th at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27th with Mr. Bob Arnold officiating. A gathering will be held after the service with refreshments served. Interment will be at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta.
