Susan 'Sue''s Story
- Sue Palmer, 53, died May 12, 2017 at her residence. She was born October 3, 1963, in Dexter, a daughter of Linwood "Wally" and Mary (Mossey) Wallace.
Sue graduated from Dexter Regional High School, Class of 1982, and received an associate's degree from Bangor Community College. She was employed in the medical records department at Sebasticook Valley Hospital until her illness. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother. Sue never let the child within her vanish. She loved to have fun. She enjoyed the outdoors; the "girl house" at Ripley Pond, ice fishing on Chamberlain Lake, motorcycle riding, visiting with family and friends at the fire pit, and spending time at home reading a good book.
Sue is survived by her parents, Wally and Sherrill Wallace, and Mary and Roger Carr; her husband Vernard, all of Newport; her son, Jeffrey Giles of Detroit; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vernard and Mary Palmer of Newport; stepbrothers, Mitchell Carr of Texas, and Kevin Carr of Ohio; stepsisters, Pamela and husband, Gaelo De La Fuente, of Japan, Melissa and husband, Jeffrey Amoroso, of Newport, Sherri Leeeman of Newport and Kimberly and husband, George Cummings, of Brewer; and her special granddaughter, Ali Paige Giles. She is also survived by her "fur kids," Harry and Lucy. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Muriel "Nana" Micue, and Reginald and Catherine Mossey.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 19, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
