WEST ENFIELD - Shirley D. Christensen, 64, daughter of James and Agnes (Cote) Christensen, passed away December 29, 2015 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her family. She was born November 11, 1951 in Dexter, Maine.
Shirley loved her family and made friends wherever she went. She participated at KFI in Lincoln and enjoyed volunteering at Penobscot Valley Hospital where her job was taking care of the magazines. After exploring various creative projects and a new found love of Pinterest, Shirley developed her own line of cleaning and natural beauty products called Simple Solutions and was very excited to start her own business. She was also a previous board member of Speaking Up for Us (SUFU) and enjoyed scrapbooking, music jams and family times. Shirley's other love was the time she spent at Pine Tree Camp, which she attended for over 30 years.
She is survived by three sisters and their husbands, Linda and John Burgess of Knoxville, TN, Laurie and David Babineau of West Enfield, Terri and Dale Ireland, also of West Enfield, and one brother and his wife, Rick and Denise Christensen of Jacksonville, FL as well as 12 nieces and nephews and 23 great nieces and nephew whom she called her "babies." Shirley was predeceased by her parents.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Friday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Johnathan Ray officiating.
