Rose's Story

SEARSPORT - On September 29, 2014 our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Friend, Rose G. (Walker) Thompson, 78, passed away at a Bangor Hospital after a brief illness. Born March 11, 1936 in Allagash to Minnie (Hafford) and Albert Walker, Rose has a long and full life.

Always a worker she was proud of her over 25 years at Penobscot McCrumb and after her retirement she loved being a huge part of her son's redemption center for 9 years.

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Rethel M. Thompson I, companion, David Boyle Sr., sons, James Nibby, Andrew and Wayne Thompson, two infant daughters and brother, Charles Walker. She will be greatly missed by all her children, Terry Thompson, Roxann Thompson, Twyla Thompson and companion, Earl Seekins, Merle Thompson and wife, Marcia, Robert Roberts, Mary Ellen Wing, Gene Nibby, Peter Nibby, David Thompson, Cindy Hinck and Weldeena Anthony. Grandchildren; Katie Hast, Ryan Hast, Chris Hast and wife, Christine, Melissa Hybers, Lisa Hybers and companion, Ryan Parker, John Hybers and wife, Tina, Brian Hybers and Anthony Hybers. Great-grandchildren; Lexi and Kairi Hybers, Grace Hast and Nathaniel Hast. Siblings; Kathy "Kak" and George Dubois, Dee Babin, Jeweline Bemel, Robert and Roseanne Walker, Mickey Walker, Verna McBrierty and Claudette Walker, as well as extended family and friends, too many to name.

A funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 at Young Funeral Home, 31 West Main Street, Searsport, with Pastor Elizabeth Bailey-Mitchell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Rose's memory to an Animal Shelter of one's choice. mitchelltweedie-young.com
