Rose E. Grindell

Penobscot 86, of Penobscot ,passed away Saturday Nov. 3, 2018. Born Jan. 15, 1932 in Penobscot ,she was the daughter of Dwight and Erma (Perkins) Leach.
Rose married Halford Grindell on Feb. 19, 1951 in Bucksport. Rose attended Beal College in Bangor. Rose loved and adored her family. She is lovingly remembered as a kind, giving soul and a "force of nature". She was a member of the Penobscot Historical Society and the Penobscot Methodist Church.
Rose is survived by her husband of 67 years, Halford of Penobscot, 2 daughters, Patricia Duchette and her husband David of Windham and Denice Grindell and her companion Ed Hopkins of Glenburn, 2 granddaughters, Katharine Duchette and her husband Michael Rolfe and Anna Duchette, 2 sisters, Margaret Austin and her husband Norris and Roberta Burband along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, one brother, Robert and 2 sisters, Rebecca and Esther.
Donations in Rose's memory may be made to the Penobscot Historical Society, PO Box 64, Penobscot ME 04476
Memorial services will be held Wednesday Nov. 7, 2018 at 11 AM at the Penobscot United Methodist Church, 14 Southern Bay Rd., Penobscot. A reception will follow immediately. Burial will take place at Bay Cemetery at 2 PM on the same day. Arrangements are under the care of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.

Very sorry to learn of Rose’s passing. I was fortunate to chat with her during Penobscot Day the last couple of years and so enjoyed reminiscing with her. I hope the love of family and caring of friends helps you during this difficult time.
