MEDWAY - Ronald Neil Pelkey, Sr., 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 26, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 2, 1946, the 6th of 12 children of Leo and Laura (Dempsey) Pelkey.

Ronnie proudly served in the National Guard before having a 45-year career as a millwright at the Great Northern Paper Company where he was known as the guy who could fix anything. He loved to take long rides, collect guns & belt buckles and travel with the love of his life. He also enjoyed eating breakfast at The Country Diner.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Brenda (McLain) Pelkey. They were married on March 3, 1967 and shared 49 years together. He is also survived by two sons, Ronald Pelkey, Jr. and Michael Pelkey, and his wife, Nicole; and one daughter, Laura Burrill, and her husband, Dan.

Ronnie is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Neil, Robin, Kevin, Steven, CJ, Emily, Bailey, Tyler, Dylan, Indigo, Gavin and Griffin; six great-grandchildren: Jayden, Trinity, Liam, Adelynn, Gracie and Brandon; two brothers: Bobby and wife, Honey and Roger and wife, Susan; six sisters: Priscilla and husband, Carroll, Marianne, Janice and husband, Dick, Cathy, Sharon and husband, Terry, and Ellen and husband, Jay and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends, including his best friend, Danny Aiken, who was gracious enough to open his home to Ronnie & Brenda in their greatest time of need.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was predeceased by one son, Brandon Troy, in 1998 and three brothers: Oakley, Gene and Rene.

The family would like to thank Johnstone Supply for graciously and quickly flying Skip home to be with his father before he passed.

A celebration of life will be held at the First Congregational Church on Maple Street in East Millinocket on June 1, 2016 from 11:30-1pm with funeral services beginning at 1pm. Fellowship and refreshments will be downstairs following the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronnie's memory may be made to the Brandon T. Pelkey Memorial Scholarship Fund and sent to Schenck High School 45 North Street #1 East Millinocket, ME 04430. Condolences may be expressed at www.clayfuneralhome.com.
