He loved all the children on his bus route, and treated them as his own. Roland especially like treating them to an ice cream on the last day of the school year. His great-grandchildren were his pride and joy, always bringing a smile to his face. Roland was a very social person who always enjoyed his morning coffee, and the local stories at Gene's Bayside Chocolates, McFadden's Variety, and Sunrise Café.
