Text size

Sherman - Roger J. Sirois, 76, beloved husband of Sharon (Irish) Sirois went home to be with his Lord and Savior, April 25, 2017, at his residence. He was born July 2, 1940 to John and Pauline (Bishop) Sirois of Island Falls.
At a young age, Roger left school to work with his father at the John Sirois logging camp. As years passed by Roger owned and operated his own logging truck. Eventually, he was employed by W.T. Gardiner and Sons in Millinocket and Lincoln operating a pulp truck for 36 years. He was one of the first men to drive a double trailer on the Golden Road. Roger was an extremely hard worker and worked long days and nights to support his family. On July 2, 2008, Roger retired from a lifelong career as a pulp truck driver.
Roger enjoyed crafting beautiful furniture and built his own home without a blueprint. He was bilingual in speaking the French and English languages fluently. He was always prepared with the winters firewood the year before. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandsons. Roger loved his family deeply and would make sure all their needs were met. The family was always placed first. His life was one of strong Christian values and he looked forward to seeing his Lord and Savior and beloved daughter Lisa Ann Sirois.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 51 years; beloved daughters Crystal Sirois of Island Falls and significant other Terry Lane, and Holly and husband John Porter of Sherman; treasured grandsons Cole Porter of Fort Kent and Tyson Porter of Orono, three loving sisters Evelyn Dunphy of Island Falls, Edith Josephson and Gloria Goodwich of Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers John and Nelson, and daughter Lisa Ann who had passed in 1981.
Services will take place May 6 at 10:00 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Island Falls. A celebration of his life will follow at the Island Falls Baptist Church vestry.
