MADAWASKA - Roger N.J. Pelletier, 87, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2015, at his residence in Madawaska, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Frenchville on April 6, 1928, son of the late Fortunat and Delia (Ringuette) Pelletier.

Roger was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of the American Legion, Post 147 of Madawaska. After returning home, Roger bought and operated Acadia Motors for 43 years, until his retirement in 2004. Having a tender heart, he became an icon in the community always willing to lend a helping hand. Being an avid outdoorsman, he loved boating, snowmobiling, and loved spending time at the camp with his family. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Church and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #2638 of Madawaska. He was a member of the Northern Maine Medical Center board and the Maine Auto Dealers Association.

Roger is survived by his wife of 49 years Bella (Theriault) Pelletier of Madawaska; one daughter, Denyse Marquis and her husband, Dan, of Fort Kent; two sons, Jason Pelletier and his wife, Lisa, and Jamie Pelletier and his wife, Jessica, all of Madawaska; four grandchildren, Chantal, Michelle, Jacob and Liam Pelletier; one sister, Virginia Bourgoin of St. Agatha; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three siblings, Emile (Leonard) Pelletier, Emelda Little and Rita Chamberlain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may offer their condolences at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service on Friday. Interment will be held at a later date in the Caribou Veteran's Cemetery.
