- Robert J. Gero, 87, died October 23, 2017, as a result of long illnesses. He was born September 10, 1930, in Old Town, the son of Phillip and Florence Gero.
He served in the US Army from 1951-1953. After being discharged from the Army he worked for the Newton Housing Authority until he retired for medical reasons. He will be missed terribly by his family and his favorite dog. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Ouellette) Gero; three sons, Robert J. Jr., Reggie G. LeBlanc, Ricky and his wife, Ann; his loving daughter, Judy; two grandchildren, SFC Jason and his wife, Meagan and Stacey and her boyfriend, Brian; six great-grandchildren, Mykiah, Adrianna, Jason Jr., Emma, Dustin and Sophia; two sisters, Frances Frost and Barbara Emerson. A special thank you to Donald and Bob who have been there for the family through thick and thin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Carmen Wilcox and his brother, Phillip Giroux.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, October 29 at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln. Graveside services with full military honors will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30 at Lincoln Cemetery with the Rev Richard Malo officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at clayfuneralhome.com.
