GARLAND - Robert Emerson Floyd, 83, of Garland, ME peacefully passed away on May 26, 2015 in Fresno, CA.
He is predeceased by his parents Hiram Stanley Floyd & Agnes Chase Floyd, & a younger brother, Donald Floyd.
He is survived by brothers Francis & Philip Floyd, son Kevin Floyd, daughters Karen Floyd Scott & Linda Hanner, granddaughter Lisa Estwin & great grandchildren Dominick & Olivia.
After graduating from Milo High School in 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. A veteran of the Korean War, he served with distinction as a Radar Operator attaining the rank of Second Class Petty Officer aboard the destroyer U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy. Upon being honorably discharged, he pursued a career in logistics, managing repair parts for several companies including New Departure Bearing in Conn., a commercial airport in NJ & the U.S. Naval Aviation Training Command in Corpus Christi, TX. The remaining of his working career was spent as an Environmental Systems Mgr. with Jackson Laboratories, a research facility, in Bar Harbor, Maine from which he retired. Dad's favorite meal to munch on was a gigantic bowl of strawberry ice cream.
